Linking asks for a Steam Guard code - which one?
Whichever your account uses: the 5-character code from your Steam Guard email, or the rotating code from the Steam Mobile app. Enter it within its validity window; expired codes are the most common linking failure.
Linking failed with 'Incorrect account name or password'
Double-check you're using your Steam login name (not your persona/display name) and that the password is current. After several failed tries Steam rate-limits logins for a few minutes - wait before retrying.
How do I unlink my Steam account?
Dashboard → Steam Accounts → Remove. This immediately deletes the encrypted token from our database and stops any active session. For belt-and-braces, you can also 'Deauthorize all devices' in Steam's security settings.
I never received my verification email
Check spam for mail from freesteamidler.com, and make sure the address was typed correctly. You can request a fresh link from the login page. Corporate inboxes sometimes quarantine automated mail.
How do I delete my FreeSteamIdler account?
Dashboard → Settings → Delete account. It's one click plus a confirmation - the same effort as signing up. Deletion removes your profile, linked Steam tokens, and settings; payment records are retained only as legally required.
Is my Steam password stored anywhere?
No. It's used once in memory to complete Steam's login handshake, then discarded. We store only the resulting refresh token, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. See the Privacy Policy for the complete data list.
